Readings & Panels offers a public platform for timely political and social debate by inviting national and international literary figures to UNLV to engage the university and its surrounding communities.
Readings & Panels aims to create dialogue, in opposition to monologue, as a necessary tool in the deepening of cross-cultural understanding. To that end, the program provides venues in which lively communication between people of unlike minds can occur. All visitors contribute to establishing a climate of tolerance for multiple perspectives through a cycle of colloquia, writing, and publication.
Recent guests to Readings & Panels include Kay Ryan, E.L. Doctorow, David Frum, Alice Waters, Yiyun Li, and Junot Diaz. For more information about a particular event, please explore the list at right.
