About Jarret

Jarret Keene is an Assistant Professor in the UNLV English department and editor in chief of Witness literary magazine, published by the Black Mountain Institute. He has written many books—comics, poetry collections, travel guides, unauthorized rock band bios—and has edited story anthologies like Las Vegas Noir (Akashic Books, 2008) and Dead Neon: Tales from Near-Future Las Vegas (University of Nevada Press, 2010). For many years, he served as a contributing music editor and book critic for Vegas Seven magazine. He is currently writing a monograph on the auteur works of graphic storytelling icon Jack Kirby.
