Karen Galatz is an award-winning journalist, columnist, blogger, human rights advocate, and nationally recognized non-profit leader.
Her news credentials include The MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour and the Nightly Business Report. Her experience also includes the U.S. Department of State, an international think tank, and a refugee resettlement program.
In government, Ms. Galatz was awarded a prestigious White House Fellowship. She served as a Special Assistant to former Secretary of State George Shultz and as a member of the Secretary’s Policy Planning staff.
In both government and the NGO sector, Karen worked to assist vulnerable people in the areas of refugee resettlement, political asylum, immigrant rights, human trafficking, and global public health.
She now writes a monthly column/blog, The Matzo Chronicles, which appears online and in print in New York, California and Israel. Her humorous Muddling through Middle Age blog has been named a “Top 100” blog. Her fiction and non-fiction writing have been published across the US.
