About Robin

Robin Greenspun has enjoyed a varied and diverse career in the media and arts spanning over 40 years. She served as president of the CineVegas film festival until the festival’s hiatus in 2010. Greenspun made her documentary directorial debut with SEMICOLON; THE ADVENTURES OF OSTOMY GIRL, which follows Dana, a feisty, funny and charming 25 year old with Crohn’s disease during a crossroads in her life. Greenspun’s recent documentary entitled ARE YOU REALLY MY FRIEND, THE MOVIE, is based on photographer Tanja Hollander’s 5 year project to photograph all her Facebook friends around the world and explore the meaning of friendship in the age of social media. The film was on view in 2017 at MASS MoCA as part of the exhibition ARE YOU REALLY MY FRIEND?, the culmination of Hollander’s journey. Her 2019 documentary, THE ZEN SPEAKER: Breaking the Silence, focuses on the issue of human trafficking and the associated trauma and shame through the eyes of a prominent Las Vegas businesswoman.
