Join BMI at the Vegas Theatre Company theater for a live show with StraightioLab! StraightioLab is a gay podcast about straight culture hosted by Sam Taggart and George Civeris. Sam and George will be joined by special guest Nori Reed to discuss one of the many mysterious and defining qualities of straight culture — things like college fraternities, gender reveal parties, themed restaurants, “the holidays.” Scared? Good.

About the Guests:
Nori Reed is an iconic LA based comedian, writer, and actress originally from Christian County, Kentucky. Nori got her start in The Bay Area and was boldly named by SF Weekly as ‘Oakland’s Next Great Comedian’. She wrote for seasons five and six of Disney’s Raven’s Home, creating Disney Channel’s first-ever live action trans character, which led to GLAAD award and Emmy award nominations. Most recently, she was a staff writer for season two of After Midnight on CBS. She was featured in New York Magazine as one of Vulture’s Comedians You Should Know and Will Know In 2021. Her stand-up has been showcased by Showtime, HBO Max, and at many celebrated festivals, including: Netflix Is A Joke Festival, Comedy Central’s Clusterfest, Moontower Comedy Festival, High Plains Comedy Festival, SF Sketchfest, and Outside Lands. Her writing was published in Vogue Magazine, and she wrote for Audible’s scripted series: Hot White Heist.
Sam Taggart is currently based in LA. Originally a Brooklyn-based queer comedian, actor and writer, Sam is currently writing on After Midnight for CBS. Most recently, Sam was a writer on the critically acclaimed Showtime/A24 series ZIWE is co-host of the Big Money Players podcasts StraightioLab. He can be seen in the upcoming series FANTASMAS opposite Julio Torres, Los Espooky’s, Search Party, ZIWE, and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. He voiced and created an original animated feature MILLENNIAL HUNTER. Sam was selected as a member of the Comedy Central Digital Creators Program in 2020, he performed at Comedy Central’s Clusterfest as part of their UpNext showcase, and was named one of Vulture’s Comics You Should and Will Know in 2021.
George Civeris is a standup comedian and writer based in New York. According to the American media apparatus, he is “known for his monster wit and broad palate” (Nylon) while his comedy “collapses the divide between high art and low” (Vulture). He was named one of the New Faces of Comedy by the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and most recently one of Vulture’s “Comedians You Should and Will Know in 2024.” He has written for projects on Comedy Central, FOX, and the BBC, and recently spent two years as a senior editor at the reboot of Gawker. He co-hosts two iHeart podcasts: StraightioLab, which was named the #1 comedy podcast of 2022 by New York Magazine, and The United States of Kennedy, an upcoming pop-culture history show about our enduring obsession with the Kennedy family.
