Comics as Resistance with Bianca Xunise
About the Event
Bianca Xunise is a cartoonist, illustrator, and self-described “goth of color.” Born and raised in Chicago, she holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Xunise is the 2017 Ignatz Award recipient for Promising New Talent. Her work has been published in The Washington Post Riot Fest, Vogue, Hello Giggles, The Nib, and Shondaland.
Bianca encourages participants to make a donation of at least $1 to Assata’s Daughters to address a shortage of programming and community for women-identified, femme, and gender non-conforming young Black people in Chicago.
