BMI Literary Society

The Literary Society-Las Vegas, now run by the Beverly Rogers, Carol C. Harter Black Mountain Institute (BMI), will host four lunches in 2020.

Last summer, Northern Trust and the organizers of Literary Society-Las Vegas asked us to take over the program you have known and enjoyed for years. BMI will bring renowned authors to the Four Seasons for intimate lunches with an enthusiastic crowd of Las Vegas locals.

A little background on who we are: Black Mountain Institute (BMI) is UNLV’s nonprofit literary center, founded by Carol Harter and now run by executive and artistic director Joshua Wolf Shenk. We work to build a community centered on art and imagination in Southern Nevada and foster creative expression across the globe. BMI has brought hundreds and hundreds of writers to Las Vegas, including Toni Morrison, Michael Chabon, Tayari Jones, Lisa Ko, Viet Tanh Nguyen, Dave Eggers, Terry Tempest Williams, and a list of winners of the Pulitzer, the MacArthur “genius” grant, and the Nobel Prize.
