John P. Tuman
John P. Tuman is Professor of Political Science and Associate Dean for Faculty in the College of Liberal Arts. His research focuses on the political economy of contemporary Latin America. He is author of Reshaping the North American Automobile Industry: Restructuring, Corporatism, and Union Democracy in Mexico (2003), and co-author of Latinos in Nevada: A Political, Economic, and Social Profile (2021). In addition, he is the co-editor of two edited volumes. His recent articles have appeared in Foreign Policy Analysis, Party Politics, Growth and Change, Journal of Labor and Society, Journal of East Asian Studies, and Latin American Policy.
Prior to his appointment as Associate Dean, Professor Tuman served as Chair of the Department of Political Science (2009-2018), and as Director of the Institute for Latin American Studies (2004-2013). He received his PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles, his MA from the University of Chicago, and his BA (High Honors) from the University of California, Berkeley.
